The Photo calendar Maker from AMS Software is an easy program that allows it's user to create beautiful photo calendar. The interface is very much easy and user friendly. The software is provided with quick access icons, easy importing tools and clear background images utility. However it do lack in several areas which include photo editing and manipulation tools, usability and variety of the fonts available and the lack of collection of clipart that can be used along the calendar.
Design of the program:
The program lacks any type of setup wizard as because the program is really intuitive that it actually does not need any type of wizard. In order to build a calendar, just select any tab from the six tab to initiate the process. The interface has been provided with the icons that have placed above the workspace which allows extra tools in making a unique design.
The Main Tab:
The Main tab is the first tab in the process of creation of calendar. It has also given the choice of making the calendar which can be a monthly or yearly format. However, there is no planner or weekly layout option available in the calendar making software. Within the main tab, there is setting button which allows it user to choose the specifics such as weekday name color, line color, background color and holiday color. Also from there, the thickness of line, the position of the date cell and the date cell font size can be fixed. The cell can be selected according to horizontal, vertical, centered, right justified, left justified or even all of the above. And it has the option of selecting from several templates which would able the user to create a project. It is to be mentioned that holidays can be edited, added or removed and also that it can be accessed from the Main tab.
Background:
Also from a variety of pictures provided, background can be set. Also it provides the option of upload a picture from the user choice. You can create calendar using the picture provided, picture of user’s choice or use a solid color or choose according to gradient color which can be of any two type of colors.
Fonts:
It is very much important to realize that fonts are much important than expected. A font can express lot moods, so a lot of fonts is very much important. Unfortunately it has to be said that the font selection in the software is very much weak. The fonts can be changed accordingly to weekdays, holidays, month names.
Summary:
Photo Calendar Maker has been packed with some really great features such as shaping of photos, masking them and the ability to make a project from scratch is really worth mentioning. But unfortunately it lacks the availability of clipart, unable to edit photos and difficulty with fonts is very much disappointing. The ability of creating project is very much. All in all the software is a good calendar making software with some points missing.
