The Mae Hong Son is one of provinces of Thailand and its location is in the northern part of the country. There are lots of mountains in this province which make this province a wonderful location for visiting. The total area of this province is nearly 14,000 square kilometers. One of the main attractions of Mae Hong Son is the Wat Phra temple. This is the temple which reflects the Burmese’s influence. From the top of this temple, the whole city and the mountains of this province is clearly visible. Even the valleys between the mountains are also visible from there.
About 17 kilometers away from the town Tham Pla is situated. This place is one of the most exciting places of Mae Hong Son. The surrounding areas of this place are filled up with the wonderful hilly forest. And within the hollow cave, there is some fresh water and within the fresh water fishes are found. Pla Khang is a type of fish which is available in that fresh water. But, the local people don’t go for fishing there as they have a general idea that they are the belongings of the god.
There is also a waterfall named as the Namtok Pha Suea which is about 26 kilometers away from the city of Mae Hong Son. This waterfall is quite a large one and its water source is originated from the Burma. This waterfall runs at a full speed during the rainy season.
The Ban Rak Thai is one of the villages within the Mae Hong Son province and it is about 44 kilometers away from the main city. The Thai-Myanmar border is located near this village. This village is popular for tea cultivation and at the same time this place is also popular for its amazing natural beauties.
The Wat Nam Hoo is another popular temple of this province and its age is more than 500 years. Still the decoration and outer look of this temple is excellent.
There is a national park in this province named as the Huai Nam Dang within this Mae Hong Son province and it is about 65 kilometers away from the main city. This park is mainly popular with the visitors for its exciting view of the sunset. Not only that, in January, the cherry flower blooms and the view of all the bloomed cherry flowers is so amazing that it can’t be expressed with the words.
